Ethan Meyers
Co-Investigator
Ethan A. Meyers is a PhD student in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Waterloo. His work on judgment and decision making spans several topics including heuristics and biases, folk theories of good judgment, and cognitive debiasing. His recent work focuses on people's tendency to think they know more than they really do (overconfidence) and what can be done to get them to think they know a bit less. More specifically, Ethan studies how having people generate an explanation for how something works tends to make them doubt their understanding of what they tried to explain (and also what they did not try to explain). In his free time, Ethan plays drums for several bands in the Kitchener/Waterloo area and is working on perfecting his fried chicken recipe.
